Our Mission

Improve the stability of third-generation photovoltaic cells. Solar energy is a direct tie to the UN Global Goal 7 (Affordable and clean energy). Perovskite and organic solar cells are expected to introduce affordable, flexible solar cells and enable innovative solutions such as vehicles and building-integrated solar cells where it was previously hardly possible. This ties into Global Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure). The key challenge to these emerging photovoltaic technologies is their inferior stability.

Our Solution

One critical reason for the stability issue with these emerging photovoltaic technologies comes from a key component in the solar cells, i.e. the charge transport layers (the layers that help to extract charge carriers out of the solar cells). Our company has solved this challenge by developing and patenting a new generation of charge-transport layers, which help to significantly enhance the solar cell stability by one order of magnitude without scarifying the device efficiency and hence bring these emerging photovoltaic technologies much closer to commercialization.

Our Products

Spiro-OMeTAD ink with tunable work function levels; triphenylamine-based radicals. Based on the Spiro-OMeTAD ink as the transport layer, we achieve high power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) over 25% (certificated) perovskite-based solar cells and much-improved device stability under harsh conditions, around 10 times increase in moisture stability​ compared to traditional materials and representing the highest efficiency with the best stability up to now.

Currently, our materials can be applied onto photovoltaic devices. We will broaden the application of our transport materials to kinds of optoelectronic devices, for example, lighting emitting diodes (LEDs) and photodetectors.
